Leisha's Art

Hawaiian Oil Paintings & Collages, Photos, Prints, Pottery, Sculpture, Artwear

LEISHA MILLER

Leisha was born and raised in Michigan. From the time she was young all she ever wanted to be was an artist. Having sold her first sculpture at age 10, she concentrated in Fine Art on full scholarship in college. Her first art job was managing the successful Precious Moments line of products for Jonathan & David, Inc. which led to a career working for 22 years in Product Development and Book Publishing.

Throughout her career she continued to study art and had the good fortune to study under Sam Butcher, the creator of Precious Moments and Ed Shrock, the founder of Down to Earth Pottery. Despite her career successes, Leisha left her career and moved to the Big Island of Hawaii where she has pursued her art since.

Leisha works with clay to hand build, sculpt and throw on the wheel. She also oil paints, collages, photographs, and designs clothes. She has become known for her vibrant colors and textured work on island pieces. Leisha is also a published author with Doubleday Publishers, NY and accomplished public speaker. “I have spoken to crowds of 15K, that doesn’t scare me, opening a kiln to find a piece blown up is scary!”
